SILK™ – next generation keyhole laser vision correction technology
SILK™ next generation keyhole laser vision correction technology is now available at NewVision Clinics leading the way in refractive laser surgery.
The new ELITA™ technology by Johnson & Johnson Vision is the latest in refractive surgery technology incorporating the SILK lenticule procedure (Small Incision Lenticule Keratomileusis).
We are pleased to announce that NewVision Clinics are the first refractive centre in Australia to acquire this advanced technology. The ELITA Femtosecond Laser brings to Victoria a generational leap in corneal refractive technology for our patients that delivers advanced technologies and features to raise surgeon experience and patient outcomes:
- Highly focused, low energy laser pulses for better quality treatment of the corneal tissue.
- Ultra-fast delivery system to facilitate smooth treatments.
- Intelligent laser guidance technology to control laser pulse placement with submicron precision for full-field optical quality.
- The ELITA Laser uses the finest of laser pulses to gently create a lenticule
- SILK™ uses one of the most precise femtosecond platforms and introduces a proprietary biconvex lenticule shape that’s designed to deliver better quality of vision and improved corneal nerve protection.
How it Works: SILK™ uses the ELITA™ laser to gently create a small, disc-shaped piece of tissue (lenticule) in the cornea. The lenticule is removed through a microscopic incision, reshaping the cornea and correcting the patient’s vision, all within minutes.
The ELITA™ laser results in an exceptionally fast lenticular procedure (~16 seconds) with next-day results and recovery.
SILK is the newest lenticular procedure and is now available at NewVision Clinics, leading the way in refractive laser surgery.
